Virtual Meeting with Indo-Canadian Hindu Association, Edmonton (April 23, 2021)

Consul General Mr. Manish along with Consul Mr. Manjish Grover had an introductory meeting with the members of Indo-Canadian Hindu Association, Edmonton. Mr. Sanjay Soni gave an overview about the society and their support to new immigrants and promote Indian culture in Canada through various cultural activates. Other members introduced themselves and spoke on the occasion. Consul General appreciated the efforts of Indo-Canadian Hindu Association and briefed them on developments in India, Indo-Candian relations, consualr services provided by the Consulate. They also discussed exploring the possibility of partnering in various events promoting #IndiaAt75 – #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence.

Annual Vegetarian Banquet (April 24, 2021) 

Consul General Mr Manish participated in the virtual celebration of the Annual Vegetarian Banquet organized by the Hindu Society of Saskatchewan (HSS), the managing body of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Saskatoon on 24 April 2021. In his video message, H.E. Ajay Bisaria, High Commissioner of India congratulated HSS on the occasion and lauded the work of HSS in promoting Indo-Candian friendship through community work and promoting Indian heritage and culture. Consul General in his remarks briefed the community members on the various programmes and policies of government for the community; information on the consular services provided by the Consulate and informed them about the celebration of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav to commemorate #IndiaAt75. The banquet was also attended by the Mayor of Saskatoon Charlie Clark and Mrs. Jaya Muzumdar of Chinmaya Mission. This is the 35th anniversary of the banquet, which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual banquet has served as a significant event highlighting contributions made by the Indian community in the province of Saskatchewan and also as a showcase for Indian heritage and culture.

Hindi Story Time for Children (April 25, 2021)
As part of #IndiaAt75 celebrations, Consulate in partnership with Ganesh Hindi School, Burnaby and Manasvini organised Hindi Story Time for children on April 25th, 2021 in the age group 5-11 years. The event was attended by Consul General Mr. Manish, Hon'ble Minister Ms. Anne Kang and Principal Mr. Rajesh Khare. The event was organized to convey the role of story telling among children and the diaspora of mother tongue (#mathrubhasha). Consulate partners with various associations to promote Hindi including Ganesh School Burnaby.

Consular Corps Meeting (April 28, 2021) 

Consulate in cooperation with Consular Corps of British Columbia and Heartfulness Canada & Heartfulness Vancouver organized a workshop on mediation for members of Consular corps. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Aravindhan Ravindran MD at Fraser Health, BC. We appreciate the efforts of all partners in spreading the important message of #meditation and #yoga #yoga4unity. This is a series of programme under the #InternationalDayofYoga to raise awareness of the many benefits of practicing #yoga #meditation #wellness #IDY2021 #InternationalDayofYoga2021 Yoga4unity - Free 90 day challenge of yoga and meditation. All are welcome to join. The group sessions run from Sunday to Friday/6 days of the week *via zoom*. Meeting with Teck Resources Ltd. (April 30, 2021)
Consul General Mr. Manish today held a virtual meeting with Mr. Ralph J. Lutes, VP Asia of Teck Resources Limited, a diversified resource company responsible for mining and mineral development in Canada. During the meeting, both discussed opportunities of enhancing bilateral cooperation in mining & minerals and energy sector. Mr. Lutes gave an overview of their collaboration with Indian entities and their India operation.

CG's Interview on Voice News Paper

CG Manish gave an interview to the English newspaper Voice, on 23 April 2021. CG talks about India-Canada relations including with British Columbia, providing consular services during COVID 19 pandemic, significance and celebrations of India@75, his life and experience of living in Vancouver.
