Virtual Session on Consular Services (June 12, 2021)

Consulate General of India, Vancouver in partnership with Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, Edmonton, Alberta organized a session on "𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐬𝐤" on 12th June, 2021. Consul General Mr. Manish brief about the procedure to available various Consular services rendered by the Consulate to Indians, Indo-Canadians & Foreign nationals as well as the new changes in the Consular Services.

Visit to Hindu Temple, Burnaby (June 13, 2021)

On the invitation from Board members of Hindu Temple, Burnaby Consul General visited the temple on 13 June 2021. During the visit CG was received by President Mr. Rakesh Dhir, Vice President Mr. Ramesh Bakshi, Secretary Dr. Preeti Misra & other Board Members of the Temple. Consul General offered his prayers to the deities in the temple and performed Aarti. Addressing the Board members, CG gave an overview of Government’s programs and policy towards diaspora, role of diaspora in furthering India-Canada relations; joint partnership to celebrate events related to commemorate India@75. He appreciated the assistance rendered by the Temple and other Indian Associations to the Indian stranded people during Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. Consul General also announced celebration of 7th International Day of Yoga in partnership with Hindu Temple Burnaby on 21 June 2021 at Temple’s premises. President Mr. Rakesh Dhir while welcoming Consul General assured full cooperation of the Management Committee of the Temple to the Consulate to organize 7th International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2021.

Virtual Ayurveda Speaker Series (June 13, 2021)

Consul General Shri Manish participated as special guest in Virtual Ayurveda Speaker Series organized by Canada India Foundation on the theme Ayurvedic Management of Benign Prostrate Enlargement & Urological disorder. The event was organized on 13 June 2021. Ayurvedic Urology – is emerging as an amazing & the most promising branch. We are developing this branch with an evidenced based approach. The branch is offering promising solutions to many urological diseases like benign prostate enlargement, urethral stricture, bladder neck obstruction, recurrent urinary tract infection, hypotonic bladder, interstitial cystitis, etc. All these conditions remain a challenge before modern urology, despite much advancement.

Virtual Meeting with Hon. Minister Prasad Panda (June 15, 2021)

Consul General Mr Manish had a virtual meeting with Hon. Prasad Panda, Minister of Infrastructure, Government of Alberta today. Both sides had a wide ranging discussion on various aspects of bilateral relations between India and Alberta, including enhancing trade & economic partnership and people to people contact and noted the ongoing cooperation between India and Alberta in the fields of energy, agriculture, education and IT. CG thanked for the support extended by Government of Alberta for commemorating 75th anniversary of India's Independence #IndiaAt75 and the Ministerial statement made by Minister Panda at Legislative Assembly of Alberta on 7 June 2021 on the 75th anniversary of India's Independence. Alberta has become the first Canadian province to formally recognize celebrations of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.


IDY - 2021 Curtain Raiser programme (June 16, 2021)

Consulate General of India, Vancouver organized the sixth of 9 online Yoga series, which was presented by Dr. Claudia Rangel Bussanich, Brahma Kumaris, Vancouver on June 16, 2021 as part of Curtain Raiser programme of International Day of Yoga - 2021 celebrations.

HC's Virtual Interaction with Community Leaders (June 17, 2021)

High Commissioner Shri Ajay Bisaria and Consul General Manish had an excellent interaction with leaders of 37 Indian community organizations from across Canada. The fruitful discussions focused on end of Covid 2nd wave in India; economic prospects; bilateral relations & community affairs. High Commissioner welcomed suggestions on celebration of #IDY2021 & #India@75

CG's visit to Ross Street Gurudwara, Vancouver (June 17, 2021)

On the invitation of Khalsa Diwan Society (KDS) Vancouver, Consul General Shri Manish visited Ross Street Gurudwara to meet meet the Board members and offer his prayers in Gurudwara. During his visit CG was warmly welcomed by Mr. Jarnail Singh Bhandal, General Secretary, Mr. Paul Jhooty, Vice President and other Board members. CG acknowledged and appreciated the partnership between KDS, Vancouver and Consulate in cultural, religious and community work. He thanked KDS members for extending support to India during the second wave of COVID-19. CG presented a special edition of the book “Life and times of Guru Nanak Devji” released by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as part of the commemoration of 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji in 2019-2020. KDS partnered with Consulate to organize a series of events to mark the 550th anniversary. This special edition of the book in three languages-Punjabi, Hindi and English lucidly explains in pictorial form the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Devji, and would help in creating awareness of his teachings among younger members of Indian Community. KDS and Consulate have agreed to partner to celebrate #IndiaAt75. To launch this celebrations CG and Vice President, KDS planted trees in the premises of Gurudwara.
