As part of Consulate Aapke dwar initiative, India in Canada (Consulate General of India, Vancouver) organized consular camp at Holliday Inn, Regina, on 9 & 10 July, 2022 and more than 300 consular services were rendered to PIOs, Indo-Canadians, Indian citizens and Canadians

During his official visit to Saskatchewan, Consul General Manish visited Prince Albert on 25 June 2022 and met with Dr Lalita Malhotra and Police Chief of Prince Albert Jonathan Bergen. Dr Malhotra is popularly called ‘Angle of the North’ for her work among the community in and around Prince Albert, specially among women and children. Dr Malhotra and other doctors showed CG and his spouse the newly created NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) at Victoria hospital in Prince Albert. Dr Malhotra made a generous contribution of $800,000. Police Chief of Prince Albert Jonathan Bergen gave a tour of the the police headquarter and explained the functioning and the role of the police in managing law & order in the city.

Consul General Mr. Manish along with Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum inaugurated the Spirit of India dance show organized on 8 July 2022 to celebrate #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav. The event was organized by Mr. Glen D’Mellow of Shiamak Vancouver. Over 100 members of Indian diaspora participated in the dance show.

It offers serene view of Shivalik Range and is one of the must visit places in Chandigarh. The garden features a seated Buddha amidst concentric circular stairs. The garden is financed by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and developed by Chandigarh Administration. This is the latest tourist attraction in Chandigarh. Chandigarh is known as the city of gardens that are lush green and have some amazing features but this garden of silence is a bit different. This garden has been specially built for meditating purposes, as surrounding areas are very peaceful and full of greenery which makes it a perfect place for meditation.

Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary, Sikkim

Recognized as an extension of Khangchendzonga in the East Sikkim, Fambong Lho Wildlife Sanctuary is a home to a large species of mammals and avian fauna. Spread in an area of 51 sq km that has an elevation ranging between 1524 to 2749 metres, the sanctuary also comprises of hamlets including that of popular tourist attraction, Mangan. Fambong Lho is ideal for birdwatching as it shelters birds species like endangered rufous-headed hornbill and laughingthrush. The sanctuary is also rich in animals like red panda, barking deer, yellow-throated marten, and Himalayan brown bear, and in flora with abundance of rhododendron and orchids.

Rajnath Singh calls for tapping AI potential in defence sector

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Monday launched 75 artificial intelligence products at a symposium on ‘AI in Defence,’ with the products covering areas such as robotics, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber security, human behavioural analysis, simulators and lethal autonomous weapon systems, even as he called for tapping the potential of AI in the defence sector, the defence ministry said in a statement.

I2U2 summit: UAE to fund agri parks in India with support from Israel and US private sector

The government of the United Arab Emirates and the private sector of the United States will invest in a $2 billion project to set up agricultural parks in India with technical support from Israel. The project is likely to be announced at the first I2U2 summit which will be held later on Thursday. The summit will see the leaders of India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and the United States exploring joint initiatives to contribute to food security around the world amid disruptions in the global supply chain for agricultural products due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
