Consulate News

As part of Consulate Aapke Dwar initiative, India in Canada (Consulate General of India, Vancouver) organized consular camp in Saskatoon on 16-17 July 2022 and rendered various consular services such as Passport, Visa, PCC, OCI, attestation, surrender of Indian passport etc. to Indian nationals, PIOs, Indo-Canadians and Canadian nationals. The Consulate partnered with India-Canada Cultural Association, Sikh Society of Saskatchewan and Hindu Society of Saskatchewan to organize two days of consular camp.

Vantawng Waterfall, Aizawl
Located at a distance of about 137kms from Aizawl, Vantawng khawhthla or Vantawng Fall is the highest and most spectacular of all the waterfalls and cascades in the fast flowing rivers of Mizoram. It is located in Vanva river near Thenzawl and is named after Vantawnga who was said to be an excellent swimmer. The height of the fall is recorded as 750 feet and though it is difficult to get close to it because of the sheer forested hillsides surrounding it, a comfortable viewing tower has been constructed. September to January are the best months to visit Vantawng Falls due to greater clarity. The waterfall is visible running at its full might through the verdant Mizo Hills. The greenery surrounding the waterfall is also accentuated and thick during these months of the year.

Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib, Haryana

Gurudwara Manji Sahib was constructed at the place where the sixth Guru stayed during his visit to Ambala city. The grand building of the Gurudwara is located on the G.T. Road (Sher Shah Suri Marg). The devotees visit this shrine to have a dip in the tank nearby. They also take Amrit from the Baoli constructed by the sixth Guru, during his stay here. Gurdwara Baoli Sahib or Gurdwara Manji Sahib – Guru Hargobind is said to have stayed here overnight while on his way to meet emperor Jahangir.

PUAE highest FDI investor in India, host to 35 lakh Indians, says MEA

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the highest contributor to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India from the Gulf region. Between 2017 and 2021, around $6,488.35 million was invested by the UAE in India. It was revealed by Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan in a reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
